Tears and Sweet Whispers 3Nico couldn't believe what Rafael was saying. He pulled the toucan by the wing and asked apart of the cardinals.
"Are you sure she is his cousin?"
"Yeah and what's the problem they are family, bird? She is here for 2 weeks and we are showing her the city so why do you ask that?
"Um Nothing. And sorry about that, but I have another question Last night, you were in your hollow? Have you seen or heard something unusual?"
"Yesterday? Hummm... no, nothing.... I was busy putting my children into bed and the little Paco is a little sick, too busy lately Again, can I ask you why?"
"It's not very important; I'll tell you in another moment."
"So, why didn't you come with us yesterday?"
"I was tired, and had some things to do."
"Paquita asked me to take care of the children." Nico didn't believe that was lying to his father. He knew, or he was thinking, that it was better than tell what was really going through his mind.

Tears and Sweet Whispers 2Next morning, Nico woke up slowly. Part of him was still in dreamland, dealing with a mountain of cupcakes. Definitively, it was better than suffering for the bird he loved and cared, but maybe not backwards.
After a few minutes, he got up and went out of the hollow to see the morning sun, something he always did, because it remembered his good times when he was just a hatchling. It was all he had since he left his parents and went to the city of Rio a couple of years ago.
When the other birds were starting to appear, Nico left the hollow and flew in direction of the beach. "Well, nothing to do, maybe I'll see an old friend again." He thought.
A lot of birds were going in different directions, some red macaws and parakeets were flying in direction of the jungle making a lot of noise. He knew that little secret which wasn't very important at all, apart from hurting, was separating him from his friends. Of course he didn't leave them and always has been by their side. But he couldn't stand, or fly, near the best of his friends, because he was feeling that perhaps he'll be rejected.
He woke up from his dream...
"Hey Nico, what's up?" Was Pedro
"Um? Nothing, I was just thinking"
"Are you ok?"
"I'm just a little tired, that's all"
Pedro extended his wing to the canary "Come on, come with me. We are going to the beach and then we see what happens".
"Pedro, I'm ok. Later I'll follow you."
"Ok, I'll be with Rafael and the others if you need me"
Pedro flew off following Rafael and the macaw family, looking back where Nico was. He didn't expect that reaction from the canary, which was alone in his own thoughts and wondering
